THE
ZAGREB SOLOISTS
The
most famous Croatian chamber ensemble The Zagreb Soloists was
founded in 1953, within the Zagreb Radio and Television under the
artistic leadership of the eminent cellist and conductor Antonio
Janigro. With him they soon grew into one of the world´s chosen
chamber ensembles of the kind. Since 1968 they have been
performing without a conductor, under the artistic leadership of
the concertmaster.
Until
now they have given over three thousand concerts on all continents
and received top honours in the greatest music centres and most
famous concert halls in the world.
The Zagreb Soloists regularly appeat at the most renowned
international music festivals and often perform with the most
prominent musicians in the world.
The vast repertoire of The Zagreb Soloists ancompasses baroque,
classi-cal, romantic and contemporary pieces of music, with a
special emphasis on works by Croatian composers.
They have made seventy LPs and CDs for both Croatian and foreign
recording companies, and received numerous prizes and awards.
